Climbing in the Alps is more accessible than ever before, low cost flights and easy transfers can land you in Chamonix or any other alpine area in a really short time. Our first steps program is designed to get you comfortable moving over rock, snow and ice, we will introduce you to all the key skills of movement on alpine terrain, the use of crampons, ice axe and ropes. The course is designed to equip you with the knowledge to operate independently in the Alps on appropriate routes. It is also the perfect week for those looking to move onto more technical objectives with a guide.

A typical week will begin with a glacier training day looking at movement on ice and roping up, we then move onto a rock ridge looking at movement and protecting ourselves with the rope in ascent and descent. We will then head into the high mountains staying in huts we will look at the skills of glacier travel, crevasse rescue and climb some great peaks along the way. We would be looking and climbing routes in the f-PD range. Routes often climbed include the Traverse of the Crochu, Aiguille du Tour, Tete Blanche, Aiguille Marbree.
